Water and Sugar : Online Tours｜糖混水- 跟著藝術家田調去：糖混水田調線上旅遊

The artist Kuenlin Tsai’s primary goal for this online event is to describe the process of conducting field research. Through this description, participants will gain insight into why the artist chooses field research as a means to obtain creative materials. Especially in the context of the current pandemic, artists who use space and time as creative materials must consider how the visibility and readability of their works and creative processes are represented.

This online event consists of two parts. The first part is an online tour that focuses on the ongoing solo exhibition “Water and Sugar”, which is only physically exhibited for four days due to the pandemic. The tour begins with this exhibition as a starting point and then uses a street view mode to guide participants through the artist’s past field research routes. Through this behind-the-scenes exploration of the artist’s field research process, participants can gain an understanding of how differences and divergences in the field research process can lead to results that differ to some extent from the original plan. This allows participants to comprehend the inevitabilities and contingencies of this creative form.

アーティスト蔡坤霖は、今回のオンラインイベントで、主にフィールドリサーチの過程を通じて、参加者にフィールドリサーチを創作素材として採用する理由を理解させることを目的としています。特に、このようなパンデミックの中で、空間や時間を創作材料として扱うアーティストにとって、作品と創作過程の再現可能性と可読性について考えることは避けられない課題となっています。
このオンラインイベントは2つの部分からなります。第一部のオンラインガイドツアーは、現在進行中のが、パンデミックのために実際には4日間しか公開されていない個展「糖混水」を中心に据えています。この展覧会のガイドツアーを開始点とし、その後、ストリートビューモードを使用して、過去のフィールドリサーチのルートを皆さんと共に辿ります。アーティストの裏側のフィールドリサーチの過程に参加することで、フィールドリサーチの過程で生じる多様性が、最終的な展示の結果と最初に提案された計画との間にどの程度の違いがあるのかを理解し、このような創作形式の必然性と偶然性を理解してもらうことを期待しています。
