配合展覽「Mae Nam」，本場講座《Terraforming：關於聆聽、記憶與地景》邀請台灣藝術家蔡坤霖與泰國席拉帕功大學（Silpakorn University）建築學院副教授 Kreangkrai Kirdsiri 博士，共同對談河流、聲音、記憶與泰國城市轉型等議題。

本次對談根植於蔡坤霖在清邁進行的田野研究。他於平河（Ping River）及周邊水系進行水下聲景錄音，並以此為起點，探討「聆聽」如何成為理解生態變遷、文化記憶與城市景觀形塑的研究方法。

活動將由藝術家親自帶領展覽導覽揭開序幕，隨後進行專題發表與主持圓桌討論。講者將共同回顧城市如何歷史性地沿著河流發展、水道如何影響文化認同與聚落型態，以及聲音如何揭示自然與建成環境交織而成的層層歷史。

本場對話邀請觀眾重新思考河流——不僅作為物理性的基礎設施，更作為承載記憶、共鳴與集體經驗的「活體檔案」。

In conjunction with the exhibition “Mae Nam”, Terraforming: On Listening, Memories and Landscape brings together Taiwanese artist Tsai Kuen-Lin and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kreangkrai Kirdsiri from the Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University, for a conversation on rivers, sound, memory, and urban transformation in Thailand.

Rooted in Tsai’s field research in Chiang Mai, where he recorded underwater soundscapes from the Ping River and surrounding waterways, the talk explores how listening can become a method for understanding ecological change, cultural memory, and the shaping of urban landscapes. The programme begins with an artist-led exhibition tour, followed by presentations and a moderated roundtable discussion.

Together, the speakers reflect on how cities have historically evolved alongside rivers, how waterways influence cultural identity and settlement patterns, and how sound reveals the layered histories of natural and built environments. This conversation invites audiences to reconsider rivers not only as physical infrastructures, but as living archives of memory, resonance, and collective experience.
